Planting & Care

Planting: Choose a location with full sun to partial shade. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Set the plant slightly above ground level and backfill with well-draining soil. Water thoroughly to settle the soil, then apply a 2–3" layer of mulch around the base.

Watering: Water deeply during the first growing season to help establish a strong root system. Once established, the Blue Cascade® is drought-tolerant but benefits from consistent moisture in hot, dry conditions.

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a slow-release, balanced fertilizer for shrubs. Avoid over-fertilizing, as the plant performs well with minimal feeding.

Pruning: There is no need for pruning, though this shrub tolerates heavy pruning. Pruning in early spring after flowering has ceased is best.
